Less than 4 weeks ago, the chance of an American dying from covid was 1 in 1,000. Now it's 1 in 808.

Unfortunately this number is going to get a fair bit worse before we're done.
I find it difficult to read Japanese texts on screen because of having to scroll up and down on the PDF all the time. Which makes me wonder whether computer screens were designed to favor languages that write L to R, top-to-bottom.

President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button. When @ShippersUnbound and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did. Eventually Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It's gone now.
